Discovery

Discovery phase is the foundation of any successful project. It involves research, understanding requirements, and laying out the strategy. It helps define the vision, scope, risks, and roadmap before actual development begins. This phase ensures that the project aligns with business goals, is feasible, and is built on a solid foundation.

Understanding the Business Goal

Identify the objectives of the project or product. Understand the problems it aims to solve for users and stakeholders. Define success metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Stakeholder Interviews & Market Research

Gather insights from key stakeholders  Conduct competitor analysis and industry research to identify best practices. Collect feedback from potential users/customers.

Requirements Gathering & Scope Definition

Define functional and non-functional requirements (what the product must do and how it should perform). Identify any technical constraints and dependencies. Establish a scope to avoid feature creep later in development.

Wireframing & Prototyping

Create low-fidelity wireframes to outline the structure. Develop basic prototypes to visualize user interactions.

User Research & Journey Mapp

Conduct user research through surveys, interviews, and behavior analysis. Develop user personas to understand target audiences. Create user journey maps to visualize how users will interact with the product.

Risk Assessment & Feasibility

Identify potential risks (technical, financial, operational). Evaluate the feasibility of implementation based on time, budget, and technology.
Once the discovery phase is completed and all insights are gathered, the actual design, development, or implementation can begin. The development team starts working on prototypes, initial designs, or building the first version of the product based on the discovery findings. Agile teams may start development in parallel, iterating as new insights emerge.
